. . . and sheila rolland, breeder
Sheila Rolland, the founder of Dandiroyal, obtained her first Dandie 'Renald Florian', in 1991 from John and Janet Roslyn. . . simply as a family pet. However, she went with him to Chase Wakes Open Show and, much to her surprise, won Reserve Best in Show!
That was the start of her showing career and Sheila has since built a well-deserved reputation as a knowledgable and ethical breeder of the rare Dandie Dinmont Terrier.
Based in the English Cotwolds, Sheila serves on the committee of the Southern Dandie Dinmont Club and is the current Puppy co-ordinator.
pedigree breeding stock
The foundation bitch at Dandiroyal is Irish champion Clossongrey Marshwiggle (Abigail), born January 2010 and bred by Miriam Couto of Washington, USA. (Find Abigail on Dandie Base).
Abigail came over from America when she was two years old, and has passed on many of her most endearing 'quirks' to her progeny, including her incessant 'talking' and curly furnishings!

American Champion Dandiroyal Helga Hufflepuf (Victoria). . .
Victoria went to America in 2015 where she was made up to a Champion by Miriam Couto. Two 5 point and one 4 point majors were subsequently won over a single weekend (Hatboro, Devon and Montgomery - 2016), a rare achievement!

With less than 100 Dandie Dinmont terrier puppies born each year in the UK, and their inclusion on the Kennel Club's 'endangered' breed list, you should expect any reputable breeder to carry out background checks.
Whether you simply want a family pet, or are looking for a Dandie puppy with championship provenance for breeding, by all means call Sheila Rolland on 07887 541 947 for her professional and unbiased advice.
You must also be aware, however, that the extreme rarity of the breed means that there is likely to be a lengthy waiting list for a puppy, whichever breeder you eventually select!
